End of an Era
Kumsta po kayo!!!
Well another week another dollar. Well I'm not gonna lie this
week Wasn't to eventful and the MTC is literally the same thing everyday...
Wake up at 6:30, eat, study, workout (ball out if you know what i mean),eat,
study, go to class and learn(hopefully), study, eat, go to class, go back to my
room, door closed by 9:45, lights out by 10:30 repeat, haha and that pretty
much my day everyday, honestly if i didn't have a workout time i think i would
go nuts because literally all i do all day is sit and sucks haha.
On Tuesdays we have devotional at night instead of class and
it is sooo nice I love hearing from the speakers and seeing what God and
inspired them to tell us. This week we got to hear from brother Ochoa of the 70
and he had such a powerful talk!! One of my favorite things he said to us was
"You as missionaries have the ability to plant the seed, but only through
Jesus Christ and God can that seed begin to grow and have life and thrive"
that really touched me.
Well I bet you are wondering by the title of this weeks
email is the end of an era, well after this Sunday I will no longer be the
district leader because they like to switch things up every three weeks. But
that being said the zone leaders is going to be someone in my district and so I
guess I might be a zone leader haha we will have to see.
This Monday the kids that have been here longer than us in
our zone leave for the Philippines and I'm sooo sad to see them leave!! they
are sooo much fun to be around and when I have a Bad day there always Pick me
up!! I'm usually in there room more than i a mine haha, one of the kids in that
group is my companion's best friends and so that's why they like us so much but
me and Elder Franks have sooo much in common, when we get back from our
missions we are already planning to write a movie together.
So, the other day in class we had to teach our teacher who
pretends to be an investigator and he boss was in there too pretending to be
her cousin, well that day we had no study time before class cause on wed. we
have service and so before we went in to teach them we had to prepare a lesson
in like 50 min, I know what your thinking, "That's so much time" ,
"That's so easy" Well let me tell ya its not when you don't really
know the language and you have to plan everything you say before a lesson.
anyways like 5 min into our lesson my teacher stops us and said that if she was
a real investigator what we were saying would go right over her head and that
we should've gone more over her question, she and her boss told us that we need
to lead with the spirit more than just teach a lesson and that was really hard
to hear cause we tried our best. after we left the room and went back into our
classroom and we were on the verge of tears and wanting to put our head through
a brick wall but we have BoM study and that calmed us down sooo much. after
class was over we went to get mail and Ran into elder franks and his companion
and elder Hoth and his companion and told them what just happened and they were
like yeah its hard sometimes we still have days like that and it sucks but we
have a lot of good days were it just comes, after hearing that it made me
realized that this was just the lord humbling me to the dust and realizing that
i need to rely on him more and that i still need to learn a lot of Tagalog and
that when the spirit tells me to teach something to just SYL (speak your
Language) my way through it haha and it'll be good!! I also go a cold this week
and today has been the worst of it.
Also if you come to the MTC speaking English and you have
your devices don't freaking complain cause you have no idea how hard it is to
learn a language and plan a lesson out of a book when you don't even know the
language its in, also you have soooo many more tools available to you so be
grateful.
I love you all and hope you have a good week!
Love,
Elder Wilson
